Taking inspiration from the Filipino word lakbay (journey), the theme LakbAI Manila brought a localized twist to Qlik’s global AI Reality Tour, turning it into a uniquely Filipino exploration of data’s evolution from past to future.
The event gathered CIOs, data leaders, IT managers, and Qlik users to discover how Qlik AI empowers organizations to make faster, more informed, and trusted decisions. The goal was clear—to demonstrate how embedding intelligence where decisions are made can accelerate innovation and deliver business impact.
The program featured thought-provoking sessions such as Qlik’s Data and Analytics Roadmap for AI Innovation, a DSWD case study on data-driven social welfare programs, and an MTC-led demo titled Journey Through Qlik AI: Turning Data Into Decisions. These sessions provided practical insights on how to move from insights to action using Qlik’s powerful analytics and AI tools.
Key speakers included Armstrong Mejilla, Senior Director at Qlik; Jeff Dy, Adjunct Faculty at the Asian Institute of Management; and Johannes Paulus Acuña, Assistant Secretary at the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). Their discussions emphasized the role of AI in driving smarter governance, data-driven leadership, and innovation across industries.
Beyond the talks, the event turned learning into an experience through interactive booths like the AI Photobooth, an Immersive Cube showcasing the past and future of the Philippines, and Filipino digital games Tumbang Preso and Hampas Palayok. These creative elements turned technology into something cultural, familiar, and fun.
