Qlik the Future: How MTC and Qlik Brought Together Data Leaders and Golfers in One Groundbreaking Meetup

Last June 18, 2025, something new teed off in the world of data analytics — quite literally.

Held at Quantum Golf Sports Club in Pasig, the first-ever Qlik Meet Up in the Philippines brought together Qlik users, healthcare leaders, and data professionals for an afternoon of learning, connection, and play. Organized by Micropinnacle Technology Corporation (MTC) in collaboration with Qlik, the event was titled: “Qlik the Future: Building Smarter Enterprises through Data Insights.”

This wasn’t your usual tech talk. It was the kind of event that fused real-time analytics with real-world fun — proving that data doesn’t have to be dry.

The sessions focused on how businesses, especially in pharma and healthcare, can move from static reporting to actionable, insight-driven strategies. The key takeaway? Bad data leads to zero value. Success begins with trusted information, clear business outcomes, and fast execution. To show how this works in action, attendees didn’t just hear about real-time analytics — they saw it in motion.

Qlik dashboards were used to display the live leaderboard during the mini golf tournament, proving how data can drive real-time engagement, even in the most unexpected settings.

“Purpose of this event is magsama sama, digital analytics whether you are Qlik or non-Qlik user,” said Gener Manantan, CEO and Chairman of MTC (emphasizing that the meetup was open to all data professionals regardless of their current analytics platform.)

Adding to the experience was a casual talk show-style segment featuring Ms. LJ Abelida and Ms. Julie Ann Catalan from Multicare Philippines, where they shared real-world applications of Qlik in streamlining healthcare operations.  “…This kind of Qlik MeetUp event,  we made some sort of twist in terms of doing it here in the Philippines (by playing indoor golf) and I’m very excited to have fun with everyone at the same time you’re learning…work hard play harder,” said Joanne Tan-Lacap, President and COO of MTC (highlighting MTC’s fresh take on traditional learning events by blending knowledge-sharing with play.)

More than just a learning session, Qlik The Future embodied MTC’s “work hard, play hard” culture — one that brings value through innovation while building strong industry connections.
